Casino Night - Part 2

Kayne's Final Notebook
The last memory he has before it goes blank and he wakes up in the mortuary with the party...

Dated the night of the casino, the day before Session 1.

Going tonight.

Tell her my attention is personal not professional now

No surprises, no fun I guess.

Either way I'm going to stop investigating her…

An after-thought written sloppy at the bottom as if he's in a hurry.

If something happens to me then don't blame her - ask my father why he assigned her to me in the first place… I will when I get home.

In Game Hook: Director + Axiom Nullifier

[This is Kayne's entrance into the game, the glitches and the party.]
A Cager turned Clueless for a few days.

DM to player note:

• This should hit like a missed death saving throw.
• You still don't know whether she suspected his feelings or had her own - before he lost his memories from the casino for a few days.
• She suspects you have authority over her, perhaps through his father. Kayne lived a semi-priveledged life of wealth and legal connections but little social or emotional fulfillments
• You can assume you died because you went to talk seek out Maryn'bl to express some level of personal interests rather than professional, a very bold move
• This tells you a lot about who Kayne was: Lawful Neutral, over-confident, bold, decisive, calculative and emotionally distance from himself due to previous loss
• Note that Kayne made his own discovery, and conclusions (right or wrong? Unsure) but he made his own CHOICES that led him to be who he is NOW. That's not by accident. If he had made the choice to associate himself with her of all people then he knows he had already made the choice to change his life to accommodate that because he knows he would have had to. No doubt.
