Welcome Home Kayne
Or as the memories came back... Did you do something else?
The general idea of this campaign is found through out the blog. Please do explore.
In summary, your character has been subject to a generational curse of service to Mechanus. Until recently, it wasn't something you could help - you a Level 3-4 Wizard scholar with an important job, an arranged marriage and a strict set of conveniences he grew up believing he deserved.
But as the playlists suggests (supporting your current class as druid-bard rather) that he was secretly a creative spirit (like his mother). Kayne's mother disappeared when he was probably 13-16 somewhere in there. His father then moved and got him a job in Sigil (about a year earlier than he should have). His studies probably required him to travel extensively when he was younger.
As notes will indicate, I think he spent some personal time tracking Maryn'bl (this is for story development of your role in town as an example, and a direct hook to the quest-giving NPC).
There are likely a lot more than you'll learn of player-importance from your players when you get to the table. I'll note that Farryn has been the most 'concerned' and had push back about leaving Kayne behind. I had given her a preview of the notes, and she was going to pick up any necessary story threads however we had NOT gotten to them. This means: You can work with both Farryn and Maryn'bl as these are the most obvious connections you have previous to session 1 personally.
Professionally however, you are the auditor assigned to the case that investigates the portal uses that resulted in Grilsand and more importantly Gauthak's entrance into Sigil... It's definitely worth studying every aspect of this from the blog because it's a puzzle he would have been trying to figure out before Session 1. You are a huge aspect of them making legal sense of things in the end game, that will lead to the liberation of 10,000 souls.
Your backstory page has the links you'll want to explore and read.
Also, you have a "Discoveries" page which will likely grow as you explore through the Outlands and collect records.
Player goals?
Be the druid. Be the Bard. Be whatever you want to be.
Be the flirt. Use your charisma, shock the crowd.
Be the remade version of this character that has a chance to overwrite what his ancestors intended for him into something beautiful, liberated and perhaps even heroic?
We will be ending this game at level 20 in 7 more sessions.
Don't hold back.
Be bold. Be a Mountainstar!
