Campaigns

Campaigns we have played together, and the PC's that were involved in each.

Princes of the Apocalypse (POA): The Princes of the Apocalypse campaign revolves around the machinations of the Cult of Elemental Evil, which serves the mad god Tharizdun acting under the alias of the Elder Elemental Eye. These elemental cults aim to summon the Princes of Elemental Evil, powerful entities whose combined strength once threatened the gods of the Astral Sea during the Dawn War.

In the party's first campaign, they were guided by the mysterious NPC Nimroden, a chronomancer who functioned as a finger of Primus in human form. Nimroden acted as a regulatory paradox designed by the god of modrons to maintain narrative coherence across divergent play outcomes.

Her primary mission was to intercept mortal chaos and ensure that the group's actions converged toward canon-adjacent endpoints as defined by Mechanus. This guidance helped prevent the cults from successfully opening a stable passage for the Devourer of Worlds to consume reality.

The prophets and the elemental temples where defeated and the evil weapons now under the security of Dwarves of Sundabar, via Fargrim Fireforge. The orb has remained in the care of the shadow sorcerer, Marigold Greenleaf who is the inheritor of all things belonging to Eldras Shadowleaf including the Hideout (bastion). Alpi owns and runs a magic shop in Red Larch. Vargar has grown a new branch as the Ironfang. The where abouts of Annastrianna, as well as Marigold remain largely unknown.

Out of the Abyss: Rage of Demons - In the late 15th century DR, a significant demonic incursion occurred when Orcus and several other demon lords were summoned from the Abyss into the Underdark of Faerûn

During this period, Orcus utilized his necromantic powers to raise and take control of a deceased elder brain, further extending his reach over the subterranean realms. This presence on the Material Plane was part of a larger era of chaos that saw the demon lords competing for dominance outside their native layers, often to the detriment of the local mortal populations and the stability of the planes.

The conflict among the rival powers eventually culminated in a direct confrontation where Demogorgon, the Prince of Demons, cast Orcus back down into the Abyss. Following this defeat, the Wand of Orcus was left behind in the Realms, intended to serve as a tool of corruption for any mortal foolish enough to claim it. This era was also marked by a noticeable decrease in the flow of souls to the River Styx, a phenomenon that drew the immediate attention of other Abyssal lords like Graz'zt, who attempted to capitalise on the distraction to waylay his rivals.

Gimble & Grumgully (twin deep gnomes) travel the Underdark after the incursion of Demon Lords are set loose in the material realm. To name a few who were encountered but not defeated, there included: Demogorgon, Orcus, Graz'zt, Baphomet, Zuggtmoy, and Fraz-Urblu to name a few...

They traveled through Slooblidoop, Dark Lake, Neverlight Grove (myconid colony), and Gracklestugh. They were originally from Blingdenstone before it was raided, originally dividing them before they rejoined in the prison cells (level 1) of session 1, marked by drow in a party of 12 they escaped with the help of "Jorlan" (aka Edward).

Our adventure stopped at the halfway point in the campaign.

Wild Beyond the Witchlight (WL)

The Archfey of Prismeer and the Witch Queen’s Gambit

The campaign in Prismeer centered on the mysterious archfey Zybilna, who was revealed to be the legendary Oerthian archmage and demonologist Iggwilv, also known as Tasha. Iggwilv, the adopted daughter of Baba Yaga, had created the Domain of Delight within the Feywild to escape her enemies and refocus her studies on fey existence. However, she was eventually betrayed by her three adoptive sisters—Bavlorna Blightstraw, Skabatha Nightshade, and Endelyn Moongrave—who formed the Hourglass Coven. Utilizing the magic of Iggwilv's own cauldron, the coven froze her and the inhabitants of the Palace of Heart’s Desire in temporal stasis. The resolution of the campaign involved the party navigating this fractured domain to free the Witch Queen from her prison.

The Tragedy of House Shadowdusk and the Zagnibs Siblings

The narrative was deeply rooted in a "patterned fate" involving the separation of three siblings: Zaga (Maryn'bl), Zigga, and Zeta. As children in Waterdeep, they were cursed by a hag coven serving Iggwilv, which physically transformed them into tieflings and bound Zaga to the Nabassu demon.

Zeta, Zaga's brother, became a tragic focal point after being captured by hags and subsequently buried. He was later exhumed and his body was burned by Thadius Shadowdusk, a narcissistic nobleman who served as Zeta’s lover and slave-master. Thadius, the brother of Kerberos Shadowdusk, ultimately committed suicide after discovering a "cure" for Zeta too late, ending his own obsessive cycle of dominance.

The Role of the Sovereign

Kerberos Shadowdusk and Jameson were both stolen as children and trapped within the Witchlight Carnival for much of their lives. Kerberos eventually emerged from the Feywild as a powerful multi-class Gunslinger / Death Cleric / Warlock of Tasha, wielding the lethal Bugbear Claw and maintained a complex partnership with Maryn’bl who returned to Sigil.

During the Prismeer adventures, Zaga befriended the monk Baji, who reminded her of the mastery of the self, as well as the memory of the celestial monk who taught her the breath control necessary to master her inner demon. Luthian and the rest of the party served as the essential combat and narrative force required to reach the ending castle and confront the machinations of the League of Malevolence and the Hourglass Coven.

Oli McGavin, Jameson, and the Sigil Transition

Oli McGavin, a street-kid from Waterdeep who became a Trickster Cleric of the Seelie Court, acted as a primary witness to the mistreatment of Zeta and the fall of Thadius. Following the resolution of the conflict in Prismeer, Jameson received a wish and underwent a memory modification before reuniting with Oli.

Approximately one year prior to the current events in Sigil, Baji, Luthan, Oli and Jameson among others were offered a legal portal escape from the Feywild into the City of Doors when Prismier burned. While they have since integrated into the Hive and Market Wards, Oli aspires to utilize her rogue and bardic talents to become a professional tout.

She most often can be found busking near Bottle & Jug.

Baji is between adventures with an active portal key to transition between Sigil's Thornhouse and Waterdeep's Church of Tymora.

The Result: Memory Redaction and Atonement

The final outcome of the encounter with Iggwilv/Zybilna left a permanent mark on the survivors, particularly Maryn’bl (Zaga). Zybilna surgically modified Zaga's memories and comprehension, leaving her cognitively unable to recognize the name Iggwilv. This modification served as the catalyst for Zaga's transition into a period of secret atonement and her eventually kneeling at the Bone Throne to sever her remaining bindings.

While the party was "dumped" at the Mortuary in Sigil due to a later casino incident involving Shemeshka the Marauder, their shared experiences in the Feywild remain the latent and recent threads that the malfunctioning Great Wheel has yet to fully recycle.

Fortune's Favored - Following the catastrophic Faction War that saw the permanent exile of the high-up factols and the dismantling of Sigil’s traditional power structures, the City of Doors remains a fragile threshold where the rules of reality have been left permanently scarred by Vecna’s metaphysical exploit.

This era of "Data Drift" is defined by a malfunctioning Great Wheel—a pre-divine probability engine originating from the Age of Tyche that now overcorrects for its missing goddess by looping souls and stripping the memories of those it fails to resolve.

Amidst this systemic instability, five souls awaken in the Mortuary as "Violation Flags" and "Statistical Impossibilities" who have died multiple times in a "Month of Death" without being properly adjudicated.

These Sovereign Soul-Units, entangled with the unresolved echoes of the Shattered Compact and the predatory calculations of Shemeshka the Marauder, must transition from being mere "relics" of a failing war economy to becoming Sovereign Authors capable of vandalizing the script of inevitability to finally resolve the multiverse’s bad bookkeeping.
Returning Characters

The Rise of the Shadowdusk Empire
- In the three decades following his adventures in Sigil and the Undermountain, Kerberos Shadowdusk successfully transitions back to Waterdeep's surface to reclaim his family’s seat of power. Utilizing high-tier alchemy, he has infiltrated the Masked Lords of Waterdeep, effectively embedding himself in the city's highest legislative circle. Under his influence, the traditional noble hierarchies have been supplanted by a "Crimson Court"—a regime where political legitimacy is maintained through the distribution of reality-warping substances.
